Yes, doesn't mean it won't pick up again. The two projects could merge again when all the turmoil dies down.

Besides, switching to DD before it is at the very least RC1 is a bit silly. The kernel versions change too often. Means a lot of patch rewrites.
Currently we are working on making 1.9 as stable as we can get it. I think it's getting close.
It may become the new "1.6.2"

+1

I think sometimes people think the next version is the magic bullet.

Tested on:
TL-WDR3600 with Huawei E3372 HiLink modem.
TL-WDR4300 on fixed line.
All is good so far :)

Hmm
I just said that there are new improvements and fixed for the wrt* devices.
Finally a wireless driver which works.
Hardware accelerated aes.
better network driver but no fully hardware accelerated nat yet.

Maybe this patched can be backported?

cake also has some new interesting feature: autorate_ingress
It is still experimental. But should in theory work as acc but much faster.

Maybe it is worth it to look into it?

You not wrong of cause but I think Lantis is saying we are close to making a stable version use can use now.

Lets not jump to the next version and wait another 6 months before we are finished the current 1.9.x/2.0

Trust me I have a keen eye on all of those improvements. But they are mostly focussed around one device.

Some things can be back porter easily. Some can't. There are a few kernel dependencies that I'm not sure can be satisfied.

Which one?

WRT1900AC family of routers.
Adding in improved wifi drivers (back portable, I'll do it today)
Buffer management drivers (decreases load on CPU while processing Ethernet frames... One step closer to HWNAT)
Crypto offload engine support (could very well be the fastest vpn/Tor device we will see at the moment)

:(

I hand a bad run with Linksys routers and said I would never buy another one.

Using this build since yesterday on a Archer C7 with 5GHz channel fully working. :D
