Is Gargoyle limited to 100 Mb?

Hello everybody!

I have a TP LINK WDR3600 and today I flashed it with Gargoyle.

I wanted to monitor the traffic of a satellite receiver and I have been successful.
But I observed that WAN speed dropped from 850 Mb/s to maximum 110 Mb/s.

Yes I have a nice subscription of 1Gb unlimited from my ISP.

My question: Is Gargoyle limited to 100 Mb WAN?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Mihai Coman

There is no limit to the WAN throughput enforced by Gargoyle. Your router is possibly running out of CPU power. For maximum throughput turn of QoS and Quotas.

Thanks pbix.

If my router would have been running out out of cpu, wouldn't show me right NOW: 647 Mb..... (after I got back to stock fw)....

So, it's something related to Gargoyle fw - (a nice piece of development, anyway).

Best regards!

Gargoyle does more things than your stock firmware does so it takes more time to move data. It will not have the same top end speed before running out of CPU that your stock firmware does.

If going fast is your only concern you should stick with your stock firmware.

Thanks pbix, that's what i did.

Not to say that today I've noticed that stock had already what I was looking for in Gargoyle..... Stupid me! :)

It' called "statistics" but it's positioned THE LAST in options column....

Best regards!
