DHCP w/ Wireless Bridge not working

Hi all,

I'm using version 1.5.9 and i can't get an ip from the other side of the bridge when using wireless bridge mode.

I've also tried patching openwrt with gargoyle's arpnat patches and i get this spammed in the console:

Code: Select all

br-lan: received packet on wlan0 with own address as source address
in both cases setting a static ip works as intended.

my router is a D-LINK DIR-615

it looks like that error only occurs on openwrt with gargoyle patches because i just flashed back to gargoyle and those messages arent comming up when i use logread.

im getting this in the main router's console:

Code: Select all

daemon DHCP SERVER: DHCPDISCOVER from [computer requesting ip's MAC] via [gargoyle IP]
daemon DHCP SERVER: DHCP offer to [computer requesting ip's MAC]
daemon DHCP SERVER: Exiting as another DHCP server is found
So for some reason the main router thinks the gargoyle router is the dhcp and shuts down when a device asks for an ip address. The weird thing is that i've fully disabled dnsmasq in gargoyle so i have no idea why the main router thinks its a dhcp.

found solution - make another device the dhcp server

I have the same situation. I am using the bridge thou I am using it as a client. I connect sucesfully via cable via ethernet but I do not receive dhcp requests. How did you solve this? can you explain?

Another device in the network? In my case I am using it as a client. Can the gargoyle as as a client and a dhcp server for the only client connected?

Looks like it is not possible to make dhcp server inside the router in client bridge mode due to mac limitations

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... f=6&t=1588

You need to connect via WDS if you want to achieve this.
