So, I've tried to upgrade to 1.12 from 1.10, upload success, but it won't back up even after I leave it for almost half an hour.

Well, another day another attempt for tftp, but the reset button doesn't do anything, I'm curious to see the inside since this is the oldest unit that still working to this day, and voila... I found few bulged capacitor, I guess that's probably why the flashing fail.

I replaced all capacitor, spray some wd40 for the reset button just in case it stuck, but nothing change. It still won't reset.

The unit it self still turn on, if I plug network it just act as switch, but it doesn't have any IP, I've tried 192.168.0.1/192.168.0.254/192.168.1.1/192.168.1.254, it doesn't connect.

Anyone has experience the same problem? is there any way to force reset the unit without button?

If you succeed, do not use any backup and you have to perform the whole configuration again manually - V1.10 from V1.12 is very different!

Is the SYS LED flashing? You need to do the same as in the video tutorial. You just have to get into "failsafe mode".

If you do not have the SYS LED flashing, then you must REFLASH using the TTL serial cable and the TFTP server: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr10 ... e_flashing

No sys led, just power and lan indicator if it's plugged in, wan doesn't work either.

I don't have serial TTL cable, and ordering it online going to take 3-4weeks, It's kinda mess atm in this town, airport is closing, flood is everywhere since heavy rain pouring down for almost a full week day and night.

I guess the option is limited to that and flash with eeprom programmer. Well... if that's it, Thank you.

Does the router slowly blink the power LED first thing after switching on?

If so, following the procedure to enter failsafe mode described in https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/tro ... tory_reset should work.

If not, the serial cable may be your last option.
