Have a DIR-825 running 1.3.10 that up until today was running great. I added an access rule to block youtube access to one ip address and after applying the config the router rebooted and constantly reboots. I was able to get it into the failsafe mode, but I cannot get the nvram to erase. This worked last time I tried it on a wrt-54gs, so I assume either something has changed with the new version of openwrt that gargoyle is using or the procedure for a 825 is different.
root@(none):/# mtd erase nvram
Could not open mtd device: nvram

Or am I just missing a step?

Re: DIR-825 corrupted nvram erase
If I remember correctly, Gargoyle does not use NVRAM
It uses a different config, but can't remember the name of it
Try this command at the command line
firstboot && reboot
type the line above and hit enter
It should reset the router to defaults and reboot the router
It will default to 192.168.1.1 and default password
reconfigure from scratch from there

Thanks DoesItMatter. firstboot did the trick. Updated to the latest and restored my backup. Router still resets when I configured the access restriction, but is did come back and the restriction is functional
Re: DIR-825 corrupted nvram erase
firstboot && reboot
in Putty not working. After Reboot is all the same. I have make Client+Acces Pont, WPA-PSK Password, Login in webinterface without password. No change

Is this the same router? DIR-825?slan wrote:firstboot && reboot

Or are you referring to a different router.
You may have a corrupted download or bad flash.
You should re-flash the manufacturer firmware, reset to defaults,
then try to re-flash gargoyle once again and configure from scratch.
