Gargoyle usage not close to ISP reporting

Post by kwoody51 »

My ISP is showing my data usage to be ~2x what Gargoyle is showing. Is there is something I need to do to correct this? Or something I should be checking?

Nov - Gargoyle showing ~500gb - ISP ~900gb
Oct - Gargoyle showing 11gb - ISP ~800gb

October is very odd as we normally use 10gb in a day. So something way off in October.

I have a WRT3200 running 1.13.0.

I see 1.14 is out for some builds but doesn't look like it's out yet for my WRT.

Thanks in advance!

It sounds a little like this bug which I fixed in 1.14
https://github.com/ericpaulbishop/gargo ... 547e9db8f4

If you type
bw_get -i bdist5-download-month-12

And get two entries returned for COMBINED, and one is significantly higher than the other one (and hopefully reasonably closely aligns to your ISP figure) then it is likely this.

Thanks for this and sorry for my delayed response!

This is what I get....

COMBINED 100539089664
192.168.1.80 660
73.94.197.149 37292530

Is the fix for this moving to 1.14?
If so will 1.14 be available for my router/ chipset?

Yes next version.
Doesn’t really seem like the issue I was talking about so I’m not 100% sure there.

1.14 isn't available for my router/ chipset (marvell armada).

Thus any suggestions since I'm running the most up to date firmware for this chipset?

Is there a 'better' chipset you'd recommend going with if this chipset it's going to be prioritize for future firmware updates?

No suggestions sorry.
Your device will be supported in future versions. It was disabled for 1 release due to a problem that has since been solved.
