I've flashed version 1.3.8 to this router, everything works ok except WPA. If I use WEP or no security the wireless works. With WPA I can "see" the network from all PCs but connecting to it always fails. Have tried different passwords, channels, WPA/WPA2 etc without luck. Internally it has a WLI-MPCI-G54 wireless card.
I guess this might be an issue with the wireless drivers in Gargoyle/OpenWRT but I don't know how to troubleshoot any further. Any suggestions appreciated
Regards, Mike

Re: Buffalo WHR3-G54 works, except WPA
After testing a few versions I've found it's only broken after 1.3.1. But I would like to use the latest version if I can
Re: Buffalo WHR3-G54 works, except WPA
Tested again with latest 1.3.9 without any luck.
Whatever changed between 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 has broken it for this wireless card.

I do not have this router and its doubtful that Eric has it either. That means if the problem is router specific we are going to need some help to resolve this.
I looked at the GIT and did not see any changes between 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 that seems related to this issue but if you are correct and this got broken between these two revisions then this is an important clue. There are around 25 change sets between these two.
My suggestion to you is to build Gargoyle at v1.3.1 from the GIT and verify that it works. Then build with the various change sets in between until you find the exact change set that broke this. Should take no more than 5 builds to do this.
From there some solution may be more apparent.

Only thing I noticed from searching is this:
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... =707#p3388
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... =726#p3498
Fix bug causing wpa_supplicant to drop broadcast packets when used with madwifi (and wpa encryption is enabled)
Maybe something happened in there on the 1.3.2 ?

I REALLY doubt that the bug-fix mentioned above is related, as that fix involved only one line that only gets executed for the older atheros models (e.g. Fonera, MR3201A).
