Web Interface acting up

Post by checkm8 »

My web interface is always loading the pages incorrectly. I have tried using several browsers including internet explorer, mozilla firefox, and google chrome yet I still have the same issues. I have posted a screenshot of what my upload screen looks like and unfortunately it does this on a consisting basis.

Is there any way to manage qos through ssh? I hate using the web interface. Thanks!

Also, DDNS does not work for dnsexit.com. Has anyone else had these issues?

What OS are you using?

Firefox 10.x works awesome

Latest Google Chrome works well

Internet Explorer 9 works well but occasionally some glitches

Make sure you flush your internet browser cache whenever you
upgrade the firmware version of Gargoyle.

DoesItMatter thank you for your friendly reply.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I was having this issue with Firefox 9.0.1 and I am in the process of updating it as we speak. Unfortunately, I am still having the same issue with Google Chrome, IE 9, and Firefox 9.0.1.

I have not upgraded lately and I tried clearing cache as well.

Is there any more information I can provide that will help you help me troubleshoot the issue? Please let me know.

*UPDATE* - Firefox 10 is giving me the same issue.

You will need to do some testing work:

1) Reboot your router
2) Reboot your computer while doing that
3) Login to Gargoyle GUI and do a config backup
4) Reset your router to defaults
5) Check Gargoyle for the GUI pages that had issues

If a reset to defaults fixed it, your configs may be damaged and
you will have to re-configure your Gargoyle settings fresh.

Damaged configs can EASILY wreak havoc on the Gargoyle GUI.

DoesItMatter thank you for your concern towards the issue.

I resolved it by just redoing my upload qos. I removed every entry and redid the entire thing and it works fine now. I dont know why Gargoyle just randomly chose to opt out some of the rules and this may remain a mystery to me for quite some time.

Anyways: Is there any way I can adjust the qos rules through ssh? Also what is wrong with the dnsexit.com configuration? I tried manually visiting the update url and it states "HTTP/1.1 200 OK
4=Update too often. Please wait at least 8 minutes since the last update"

Strange isnt it? I still cant get it to work. Maybe playing with the ddns_gargoyle file under /etc/ will fix things? Im not sure.

I'm unable to access the web interface via firefox. Tried on 3.6, 10 & 11. Safari mobile and Chrome works fine. On firefox upon logging in and clicking on any option will immediately kick me back out onto the login screen. Any clues before I restore back to defaults and reconfig? Thanks.

Edit : Reset to defaults and reconfiguring works.

I've been having ongoing problems with my web interface loading extremely slowly, and it will often give me a session expired error. I have tried flashing 1.5.11, 1.6.1, and 1.6.x beta and the problem persist even when using default settings.

Router is a Netgear WNDR3700v2. I rarely had problems as bad as this previously, but it would occasionally refuse to load a page in the web interface and drop me back to the status page. Recently it was refusing to load a page unless I double clicked the link.

Interestingly the interface is responsive when it has just finished rebooting but it will go back to being extremely slow after about 30 seconds.

I have reflashed multiple times but the problem persists. I am currently trying to flash back to stock firmware so I can reflash gargoyle but I can't even get the upgrade firmware page to load correctly.
