I did try latest 1.4.2 build on Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH A2 A0 with RTL8366RB chip but no luck. it mean we have to wait for new gargoyle build based on openwrt latest trunk above r28133

Any suggestions?
I ssh'd into it and dropped caches and it worked for me.

I have been using using gargoyle_1.4.2-ar71xx-dir-615-c1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin on a TEW-652BRP since so many versions from 1.3.X, but I am getting random and frequent disconnections to WAN and WiFi with 1.4.2. I am able to login via LAN using SSH and get the following dmesg and logread output.

Code: Select all

Looks like OpenWRT trunk now has their own images for the
Trendnet routers - try one of those builds and see if the wireless
has more stability. If so, you may have to wait for Gargoyle to be
updated to a more current build of OpenWRT.

You are right. This seems like OpenWRT problem rather than Gargoyle. I will try the OpenWRT trunk and post back here.

Edit: Same, the latest build of OpenWRT (10.03.2011) trunk also crashed. The log is below.

Edit 2: I think I am dealing with hardware failure here. I have installed Gargoyle 1.3.16 again and it failed the same way. That version was completely fine before. I am just reporting to avoid confusion. Devs, please disregard my error reports.

Edit (10.07.2011): I have tried latest OpeWRT trunk (r28363) and the disconnections are gone. I don't think this is hardware failure as I suspected anymore. Hope this helps with resolving the problem in Gargoyle.

Re: Version 1.4.2

Anyone have problems to autostart Samba, Transmission and miniDLNA on boot?

I've also realized that my wireless configuraton isn't load on boot. After boot my PC has connected only on 65mbps and without Internet conection. So I need open Connection -> Basic and click "Save Changes". After that my connection changes to 300mbps and my ADSL connection works.

I've checked and all are enabled on /etc/rc.d:

I did try latest 1.4.2 build on Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH A2 A0 with RTL8366RB chip but no luck. it mean we have to wait for new gargoyle build based on openwrt latest trunk above r28133
Thanks for the report. I guess I'll stay with DD-WRT until something changes.

BTW, I flashed DD-WRT yesterday, only to get up this morning to find two computers using my wireless network. (I hadn't set up wireless yet because I didn't have my netbook handy.) Why does DD-WRT default with a functional, unsecured network? I imagine they'd tell me I should have checked it out immediately after flashing, but wouldn't it be better to have wireless disabled? You need a wired connection anyway to perform the flash and enable wireless web administration, so who is benefiting from it? Even the stock firmware of the WZR-HP-G300NH has the sense to have a secured network out of the box. Sorry for the rant.
