If wireless is configured manually on an ath9k router... can we still do qos etc through the gargoyle interface for the wireless interfaces?

I'm currently using OpenWRT using LuCI, but the QoS is abismal compared to what I'm used to (WRT54G running tomato), the OpenWrt guys highly recommend your firmware for QoS. if I was to download and build trunk right now would it be in any workable state? the reason I ask is I have a WNDR3700 and it...
