Re: QoS ACC Degrades Over Time - v1.11 RC5
From your comments it seems it is working correctly. It is following your available bandwidth from your ISP. In this condition of 1500kbps lockup was either the uplink or downlink saturated? And do you have a ADSL connection? QoS will not work without it running when your ISP becomes congested. But ...

Re: QoS ACC Degrades Over Time - v1.11 RC5
What is shown as your ping time limit in the ACC status section. Is it automatically calculated or did you enter a manual time limit?
Incorrect setting of a ping time limit can cause ACC to clamp down on your bandwidth.

Re: link load level that activates rule enforcement
There are some fundamental incorrect assumptions in the above post. Please start by reading this from our documentation section. It will take you some time to read and understand but in the end you will understand the way QoS works. https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=qos Perhaps the mo...

Re: ACC manual control target ping time
Too low target ping times are the issue here not high ones.
The automatically calculated ping times are the recommended ones. You should not attempt to use lower ones. You can try higher ones if you are having issues.

Re: Basic question about QOS with ultra low bandwidth
I believe Gargoyle can help you in the download direction using ACC. Gargoyle is very good at handling download speed variability.
But you should read the documentation on QoS first and then post again with any questions you might have.

Re: Interaction between ACC and Upload rules
It's true that there must be a relationship between ping times and bandwidth for ACC to work. I also have no idea how it could be otherwise so you have a mystery on your hands. You might try making your ping server the same as the site you are uploading/downloading from. Its not a solution but it mi...

Re: Interaction between ACC and Upload rules
QoS is the only thing you can employ in your case to provide fair and reliable service. Its not as good on the upload in your case as the download but your assumption that QoS would never activate is incorrect. You would benefit by reading some here https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=q...

Re: Interaction between ACC and Upload rules
ACC only works on the download side.
QoS still works on the upload side if the total bandwidth is set appropriately. Unfortunately in your case since your available bandwidth is variable you would have to select the lowest number to get effective QoS.
Sorry to bear the bad news.

Re: QoS Download Speeds
Just what is QoS suppose to prevent? QoS enforces the rules. When QoS is not working because its not enabled, improperly configured or the CPU is overloaded then the rules are not being enforced uniformly and there is no fairness. I think the idea of the one minute CPU load on the download page is ...
