Re: Best Router for Gargoyle
Just keep in mind 5GHz will always be poor compared to 2.4GHz. Higher frequency spectrum is weaker at range and penetration (assuming same transmit power). In an unrelated note, this also happens in mobile networks. Mobile networks that own and use lower frequency spectrum 700-900MHz have a huge ad...

Hi I currently have a Netgear 3700 v2 which is ok but I do wonder if it is lagging behind particularly on wifi performance. 5Ghz seems very poor though that maybe a Gargoyle issue. Wifi is ok but as pretty much the whole house is wifi (Now TV/Chromecasts/Pcs etc) are all on What is considered to be ...

Re: (Random?) Wipe of Quota Settings
When I had some strange issues a while back it was caused by preserving the settings when I updated the firmware, is that the case for you. If so would suggest a firmware update (same version. don't preserve the settings to see if that resolves)

Re: 1.6.2/1.71/x Settings not holding on power off
Tbh when I started this exercise I thought that was what I was looking at and that could still be the case but this wasn't a one off. I went to those builds multiple times and at the end I even got to the scenario that worked eg 1.70 to 1.71 then flashed clean 1.71 to lose (just to prove the scenari...

Re: 1.6.2/1.71/x Settings not holding on power off
I've had no settings loss on wndr3800 with 1.6.2, 1.7.0, 1.7.1 or any of the 1.7.X with PPPoE Hi Lantis, just to confirm you went to 1.62 or 1.71 with the preserve settings unticked ie you had to reenter the settings from scratch and afterwards if you turned off the router the settings were retaine...

Re: Version 1.7.1 - Guest Network Support
Further to my previous posts I have done some extensive testing today and believe Gargoyle has an issue with firmwares 1.62 and 1.71/x If you go to these firmwares without previously preserving the settings, put the settings in then save the settings when the router is powered off it does not retain...

1.6.2/1.71/x Settings not holding on power off
Tested on a Netgear 3700 v2 Firmwares 1.6.2 and 1.71 (and 1.7x) If you update to these firmwares (not preserving settings), enter the settings - test internet is working and then power off the router the router loses its settings If you are on 1.6.0/1.61 or 1.7.0 and update to the above firmwares wi...

Re: Version 1.7.1 - Guest Network Support
