Re: Problems update firmware via GUI
I had read about not importing old configs so I took screenshots of all my settings so I should be good there. Try showing each page of old configuration, then doing "save as" from browser menu (save local copy). This way, when you are re-configuring from scratch, you can open each saved ...

Re: Help test fix for Connected Hosts screen
Thanks pbix, glad to hear of DoesItMatter's generosity! a couple of quick questions. * does this only apply to 1.3.14 version (I've been hesitant to upgrade my gzr-hp-300nh from 1.3.13 which has been stable for me) * is a reboot required after installing as indicated? * or is there a CLI command to ...

Some definitions: Quota = data volume (in Mb or Gb) Quota sharing = distribution of available total quota over specified time period, eg 100Gb/month divided between 5 users, each one could be assigned 20Gb/month (eg useful in situations where ISP specifies monthly volume allowance) Bandwidth = data ...

Re: Parental Control/ Firewall Restriction
I use this feature. I have fixed ip_address ranges for each member of the family (groups of 10 for ease of remembering which range belongs to whom: plug for named ranges request). I have time restrictions set for my older child's ip_address range, and a different time restriction set for the two you...

Re: Version 1.3.13
Eric and development team, It looks as though the links for restriction.sh and port_forwarding.sh have gone awol from the Firewall tab on the left side of the browser GUI router interface (checked with firefox 3.6 and IE6) They are still accessible from the browser URL. I'm using Buffalo wzr-hp-g300...

Re: Throttle Bandwidth / Bandwidth Sharing
Addressing one thing 1aN said. Having a hotspot would not help you. A hotspot will restrict access to the network but once you are logged it does nothing about fairness. You need QoS to enforce fairness regardless. Thanks for clarifying that! The rest of your post makes it really clear how to set u...

Re: Throttle Bandwidth / Bandwidth Sharing
Trailblazer, I can see why you thought that the quota you set (from your screenshot) would limit each user individually to the quota you set, but this particular option sets a single combined quota for all users without explicit quotas defined. If you set the quota as shown, then look at the quota_u...
