My biggest problem with the OpenWRT list is that it is simultaneously out of date (current routers are not yet on it) and too new (support is listed for BB, not Kamakazi). It makes finding a compatible router very difficult.

ASUS RT-N56U?
Hi all, I see there was an earlier thread about the above router but there wasn't any real followup. I need to replace my current router and this one seems to be fully supported by OpenWRT since Barrier Breaker so I'm hoping to get my favorite OS, Gargoyle, running on it. 1. Is Gargoyle build on Bar...

Re: cheapest replacement for aging buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh
I couldn't find the specs so I didn't know what the chipset was. It's difficult to find anything like the buffalo. Maybe I'll find another buffalo and heatsink it.

Re: cheapest replacement for aging buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh
I need something that runs Gargoyle as I have my network segmented and white-listed for my kids. I have a Parents group, a Teens group, a Kids group and an Everything else group with various levels of access.
I also use the SMB media drive

Re: What is the current state of Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH Suppo
For those who were wondering, the 1.6 version of Gargoyle works fine. I did have to hex edit the first 20 bytes off to fix the bad magic number problem and upload it over serial, but its working great now!

[Solved] Re: Windows 8.1 can't see router. Everything else c
I did have it turned on after the upgrade. I've tried several things, all to no avail. Then, just as part of the maintenance, I replaced the expired Norton that came with it, with Avast, and suddenly everything works again. Not sure if it was related or not, but I definitely didn't change anything o...
