Re: BEST/FASTEST router that I can flash Gargoyle onto?
thank you for the info. I know this question was asked awhile ago but I still am using my WNDR3800 as main gateway with a WNR2500 as an accesspoint on the other side of the house. Works pretty good, get about 30-40mbps on 2.4ghz band. I try to keep the 5ghz band as clear as possible for the wifi-as-...

1.9.2 firmware and MBIM modem support
I'm on 1.9.1, noticed 1.9.2 includes MBIM class modem support. My internet connection is currently via WiFi-as-WAN, and while it has been fine as-is I am curious about using USB instead for this. For that matter, I currently get close to 100mbit down and 16mbit up using current config and I am not e...

BEST/FASTEST router that I can flash Gargoyle onto?
I admit, my venerable Netgear WNDR3800 has been great with Gargoyle, but now that I have been using wifi-as-wan, it is showing its age. I need something with a little more wireless bandwidth, like N600/AC2000 capability or better, I have a 100Mbit wireless WAN connection but I'm missing out on a goo...

Different SSID or same for 2.4/5ghz, and bug
I know the answer is still technically out on which is preferable- same SSID or different for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I have seen a bug in prior versions where at least on my router (WNDR3800) the 5ghz band will quit broadcasting if they are both given the same name. Haven't tried since 1.7.2 though and I'...

wisp or pay-hotspot function?
Is there a plugin somewhere or a project developing one for this function? I think it would be great to be able to incorporate this into gargoyle somehow. Perhaps something like Sputnik/hotspotsystem for dd-wrt. Would appreciate it if someone that knows more about this firmware than I do could chime...

Openvpn: Can ping router but not LAN clients
I must be missing something. I am going on a trip for work and would like to be able to access one of my home PC's remotely while away. USB storage is accessible, but I cannot access anything beyond the router on the LAN side. LAN IP config is 10.0.0.1/255.255.255.0 VPN is 10.8.0.1/255.255.255.0 (ha...

Re: WMM and QOS
Guess I was doing it wrong. I have an ADSL2+ connection. Sync rate is 14397down/1020up. Wish I could get more but the line is maxed out. I get about 13.5Mbit down and exactly 1Mbit up. I don't believe QoS has actually been active. Haven't had problems per se, but can't tell any difference on or off ...

Re: WMM and QOS
Cool thanks, QoS ran as suggested seems to be working good, no congestion issues. This firmware also seems to be much more friendly to making connections from outside the WAN i.e. my camera system and plex server from my phone when away. Used to sometimes have to start the connection several times f...

WMM and QOS
Hi, First off will say just installed Gargoyle. At a secondhand store I came across a WNDR3800CH for cheap so I bought it. Came to find out the "CH" variant is actually an ISP-branded model that potentially has some kind of backdoor built into the netgear firmware for the ISP to supposedly...
