I've had no settings loss on wndr3800 with 1.6.2, 1.7.0, 1.7.1 or any of the 1.7.X with PPPoE

X86 will certainly help.
The WRT1900AC is showing some impressive WAN throughout speeds (~800Mbps). It's running a 1.2Ghz processor. Possibly dual core!

as Mac OS is based on a linux subsystem if it says to enter a command just give it a go. It should go through specifically the tcpdump command should work which is the bit where we are looking for a response from the router.

i agree with the above response. The time period doesn't wrap around in the way you have listed. You must make 2 rules, 1 between 0:00 and 07:00 and 1 between 20:00 and 23:59. As for your other problem with the quotas, can we also get a screenshot of the "Edit" window for that one please? ...
