Re: DHCP not working for some clients

Can't try the droid yet since it is in use by my son's. I set a static IP on it and that worked. I plugged my PS3 directly into the gargoyle and it could NOT get an IP address with DHCP, while static setting an IP address on the PS3 menu worked. The failure of the gargoyle to assign the PS3 an IP on...

DHCP not working for some clients

Firmware is 1.4.7 DHCP is working for some hosts, while not for others, but works for all hosts with a non-gargoyle router. Generally, DHCP is method used by some hosts to get an IP address from the router. Not working: Droid phone on wifi connection. Droid is connected through an engenius wireless ...

Re: TP-Link TL-WR841N/ND V7

Answering my own question: I decided not to try this for the WR741ND version 4.3 with the following thinking. The 841 version 5 and version 7 hardware have similar chip numbers as per the link below, while the chip numbers for the 741 are a different series between the version 1.x and version 4.x. B...

Re: flash openwtr to WR741ND V4.3

Answering my own question: Renaming the file didn't make the router accept it for OEM install of gargoyle via web interface. (nothing was changed, no firmware installed) The Gargoyle-router store WR741ND description says the ones they sell are hardware version 1.9. (A supported hardware version, not...

Apply to WR-741NS v4.3 ?

I'm thinking to apply this technique to install V1/V2 Gargoyle in a V4.3 WR741ND. The thing that strikes me as odd about this procedure for the WR841ND is that the Gargoyle image that gets installed is the "Gargoyle v5 factory image," rather than packages. Is this procedure listed here nec...

Re: flash openwtr to WR741ND V4.3

I got a new WR741ND - still OEM firmware On the retail box outside it does say ver 4.3, also has ver 4.3 on the bottom case label of the unit. In the web access, it reports Firmware Version: 3.12.11 Build 110825 Rel.38276n Hardware Version: WR741N v4 00000000 The firmware build seems to correspond t...

What happens when quota exceeded?

Please excuse the fact that I do not yet have a compatible Gargoyle flashed router. I searched the documentation and forum and so far only found feature requests related to me question below. Question: If bandwidth is used up and a set quote exceeded, what then occurs from the perspective of the use...

4mb versus 8mb flash

The Atheros AR71XX based routers TP-Link TL-WR741ND has 4mb flash, while WR1043ND has 8mb flash. The have the same RAM size of 32mb. I mention these two since they are currently in the Gargoyle store. I see the differences of the 1043ND versus 741ND as far as USB port, gigabit wired ports, more ante...
